About Academics

Participants through the American Semester Program (ASP), Exchange Programs, and Short Courses have varying academic requirements. We work to ensure students participating through our programs receive not just credits they want, but credits that assist them in completing their degree.

ASP and exchange students are able to choose from a wide variety of course offerings through nearly all academic colleges at MSU. Students normally take between 12-15 credit hours per semester, allowing them to expand their academic interests, and have new, unique experiences. We have compiled commonly taken courses.

We currently offer topics in English as a Second Language, Film, Education, Big Data, Social Media for Business, Sciences, and Law- but we are always adding more! Courses are designed as 3 US Credits and our partners in Europe and Australia have accepted them as 6 ECTS - it is your responsibility to find out if you can transfer your ASP Short Course back to your home university for credit.
