International Studies & Programs

Short Courses

American Semester Short Courses are designed for undergraduate students from outside of the United States. This is not your typical summer school! Instead, you'll enroll in a 2-4 week course taught by MSU faculty. You will work hard in the classroom during the day, and play hard in the afternoons and on weekends in the great American midwest.

Get a taste of university in the U.S.! We pack all aspects of an American semester into just a few weeks: American holidays, sporting events, high quality academics, excursions to other cities, a graduation ceremony, and more.

The American Semester Program has a catalog of Short Course offerings, but also works with MSU departments to create customized programming.

Short Course Topics

Take a course with an MSU Faculty member who is an expert in their field! Topics include english language & American culture, film making, teaching, data mining, ethics in technology, social media, and law.
