"Making the decision to study abroad at Michigan State was unquestionably my proudest achievement to date. It was hard not to feel immediately at home at MSU’s campus, a spectacle in itself which seemed more like a fairytale garden than a school.
MSU introduced me to snow, squirrels, school spirit and most importantly, like-minded individuals who I now feel privileged to call my dearest friends. I never wanted to miss out on anything while on exchange, which led me to attend an unforgettable Michigan State basketball game, completely alone, where I sat in the Izzone – the electric student cheer squad – and met a bunch of friendly fellow fanatics.
I immersed myself in the American culture at MSU by saying yes to every unique opportunity that presented itself, and I hope that future students do the same!"
"I remember the semester as being a very interesting one. I felt that the scholarly activities were challenging and that I made a lot of new friends from all over the world, including Americans.
Going to the US, I was very curious about how people lived and what it was like being an American. I had some stereotypes confirmed and others disproved. One lasting impression, given that I am Norwegian, was that the US is gigantic and can offer a great variation in terms of people. I met some really fascinating human beings."
