All incoming American Semester Program and Exchange students are automatically enrolled in the mandatory Student Health Insurance Plan through MSU when they register for classes.

The health insurance coverage offered through MSU meets the necessary federal requirements and important standards to support the student in the event of medical need.

Health insurance coverage in the United States is very expensive. In an effort to protect our American Semester Program and Exchange students from experiencing medical emergencies without sufficient insurance coverage, MSU requires international students to hold suitable health insurance coverage during their entire time in the United States.
