From the moment I received the acceptance into the program, I was filled with eager anticipation for the experiences that awaited me.

The program was riddled with fascinating and exciting experiences that unveiled the stark cultural differences between Dubai and the United States. Our itinerary was packed full of businesses that demonstrated these differences vividly. On our first day, we ventured into Old Dubai, where I learned about the traditional homes of Emirate natives, which were fascinatingly made from coral. These Colorful spices in the market of Old Dubaihomes often featured wind towers on their roofs, which were designed to regulate indoor temperatures. A bus tour of the city provided me with numerous interesting facts about Dubai's history and development.

Additionally, on the first day, I had the pleasure of visiting the famous spice and gold markets in Dubai. Stepping into the spice market, I was met with the sight and scent of numerous spices on display. Many of these spices are not only used for cooking but also for making perfumes, adding to the richness of Dubai's cultural tapestry. Adjacent to the spice market was the Traditional meal in Dubaigold market, boasting extravagant pieces often exchanged as part of dowries or worn on special occasions.

Our first day concluded with a traditional meal at the Cultural Centre, where we were hosted by a native Emirati. We were treated to a traditional meal, followed by a unique custom of politely bidding farewell to guests with fragrant spice smoke; this gesture encapsulates the warmth and hospitality of Emirati culture.

The following days were a whirlwind of business engagements, including meetings, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Interacting with industry leaders and local entrepreneurs who furthered my understanding of Dubai's dynamic business landscape. Visits to companies like Siemens Energy and General Motors provided firsthand insights into the city's innovative spirit and entrepreneurial drive.

This experience has opened my eyes to the myriad possibilities not just within the business world but in other countries as well. Dubai's rapid growth and development showcases what can be achieved with determination and effort, a lesson I carry with me from this adventure. Despite the challenge of leaving my son behind, the enriching journey was undoubtedly worth it. I hope to share similarly amazing experiences with him someday, inspired by the boundless opportunities Dubai exemplifies. My program to Dubai was a dream come true, filled with unforgettable experiences and valuable insights that have enriched my perspective in countless ways.
